Blinded by the Light

Our daughter is a funny one. She is already developing a personality with likes and dislikes. Among her favorite things: Sharon, Lois, and Bram's CD, having her hair and back rubbed, driving in the car, her vibrating chair, being swaddled, and playing on her mat. There are of course, things she doesn't care for. Those would be the "big three": being cold, having a dirty diaper, and hunger. She only cries for those things.

A word of advice to all of you out there who may come over to see the baby. If Maddy isn't crying, it is safe to assume she isn't cold, bored, hungry, or dirty. It is amazing to me how many people can try to find something wrong with a happy baby!

There is one other thing she hates, although it doesn't make her cry. Madeline does not like light shining in her eyes. I thought this picture showed a creative way to avoid the bright halogen bulbs in our family room that were beaming down on her during the Browns game. Call me bias, but I think that shows both creativity and ingenuity. Or maybe her arm just flung up and landed there. She did wake herself up yesterday morning by beating herself senseless with her own arm. Ah, well, you be the judge.
